 R & D Activities  in Biotechnology

The institute is engaged on research on biotechnology of horticultural crops. Attempts are being made to micropropagate mango, guava, aonla, bael, papaya and litchi. Molecular characterization of Mangifera indica and Psidium guajava is also carried out. The etiology and management of guava wilt and identification of wilt resistant root stock is also carried out. Work on genetic transformation of fruit crops has just been initiated.
