HYDERABAD : Hyderabad-based CCMB has developed a new methodology for
monitoring as well as estimating tiger population in protected
areas. The method, based on DNA finger printing, would help
the government to accurately conduct tiger census in the
country at a cost of Rs. 1.5 crore. The institute is also
planning to provide technological assistance to the Centre
for setting up Rs. 80 lakh vulture handling and breeding
centre in Hyderabad.
