She was accompanied by Dr. Rajesh Chaturvedi, Scientific Officer, Council of Science and Technology, U.P. She interacted with the staff and scientists of vermicomposting, biofertilizer, distillation and tissue culture facilities and the Human DNA Bank. | |

Ms Chowdhury visited the green house, poly house and the glass house and seen the hardening of the banana plants and Macropropagation of Jatropha Carcus plants whose seeds are used for obtaining the “biodiesel”. Later she interacted with the entrepreneurs of the Biotech Park in the conference room of the Biotech Park. |
Dr. Seth gave a brief presentation on the Genesis of Biotech Park, its current status and ways and means by which it can play a role in rural development and employment generation through applications of biotechnology. Prof B.N. Dhawan, Member, Advisory Committee, Biotech Park and Former Director, CDRI, Lucknow came on invitation of CEO, Biotech Park to attend valuable inputs about the potential of Biotech Park in addressing the problem of entrepreneurs at village level for lights, running of generator etc. with biofuel on one hand and attracting biofuel industries in emerging areas of pharma and Agribiotechnology. |

Ms Chowdhury enquired in detail the various steps in preparation of bacterial biofertilizer, tissue culture banana plants and isolation of human DNA and its uses and gave useful suggestions. Ms Chowdhury expressed keen interest in the facilities established in the Park & appreciated the efforts of Biotech Park for promoting Jatropha plantation for production of Biodiesel and making Lucknow a Biotech city.
