Prof. Torsten Wiesel, a Nobel Laureate (1981) for Physiology or Medicine who was in Lucknow to attend the 5th Congress of Federation of Asian-Oceanian Neuroscience Societies (FAONS) & XXVIII Annual Meeting of Indian Academy of Neurosciences (IAN) visited Biotech Park, Lucknow on November 28, 2010. During his brief visit he went around various facilities, interacted with the scientists & technical staff and some entrepreneurs of the Park. He praised the architecture design of Biotech Park buildings and expressed keen interest in knowing how the Biotech Park is helping the new start ups in setting up their units, producing small quantities of products and providing services and hand holding. Prof. Wiesel appreciating, the objectives set up of the Park and the work being done, said that it is good model where through linkages with R & D institutions, Park can help in rural development by providing good quality planting material and fertilizers. He suggested that Park should serve as the knowledge resource and help in human resource development. He planted a Rose Palm sapling in the lawns of Biotech Park. and recorded his impressions in the visitor Book “I am very impressed by the Biotechnology Park in terms of its objectives, layout & leadership. Prof. P.K. Seth has carried out a most thoughtful & constructive Park with a look and in the need of the future in this very important area”
