Biotech Park and Central Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants (CIMAP) have signed an agreement on 15th February, 2010 for setting up of CIMAP’ Point of Presence (PoP) at Biotech Park. Prof. Ram Rajasekharan, Director, CIMAP and Prof. PK Seth, Chief Executive Officer, Biotech Park exchanged the agreement on 20 February, 2010 during the press conference at CIMAP. The CIMAP’s PoP facility at Biotech Park, Lucknow will be used for showcasing CIMAP’s technologies, potential and capabilities to the prospective clients. Part of the product manufacturing, bottling and labeling activity will be undertaken in the PoP. Further, development and subsequent production of new herbal products will be undertaken in the PoP on pilot scale. Additionally, collaborative projects in need based, mutually beneficial areas with industrial application will be jointly taken up by CIMAP and Biotech Park . The PoP facility will also be used for industrial training -cum -demonstration using Biotech Park’s pilot plant facility. The PoP will help CIMAP in fostering linkages between the laboratory, industry and potential clients. These activities will be helpful in overall business development based on CIMAP’s patents, knowhow and services.
