With the kind suggestion of Hon'ble Abdul Mannan, Minister, Science & Technology, Govt. of Uttar Pradesh, UPASTA organized a meeting to prepare Vision Paper on Science & Technology for Government of Uttar Pradesh on 3rd June, 2008 at Biotech Park, Lucknow to fully utilize the scientific advancement for the growth of the state.

The meeting was presided over by the Minister of Science & Technology, Hon'ble Abdul Mannan and was also attended by Shri B.M. Meena, Principle Secretary, Government of Uttar Pradesh. In addition to senior UPASTA members, other dignitaries, Mr. Jayant Krishna, Mr. Jagdish Gandhi, Mr. Dilip Kumar, Dr. Sah Abidi, Dr. B.R. Pandey, Dr. A.N. Singh were also invited to attend the meeting.

Dr. P.K. Seth, presented a draft of the Vision Paper followed by discussion to finalize the road map. In the end, it was concluded that the core group of UPASTA will prepare the fine tuned Vision Paper, giving priority to Agri-biotechnology, for the application of science & technology input of innovative agriculture research and its dissemination.

Lastly Hon'ble Minister paid thanks to all members of UPASTA for taking interest to develop Vision Paper to foster biotech development in the State.
