Scientists have discovered a Dubbed Conserved Dopamine Neurotrophic Factor (CDNF) which may help to reduce symptoms of Parkinson’s disease. The new molecule can prevent degeneration of the nerve cells which are destroyed in this disease. Experiments were carried out on rats and it was found that CDNF protected 96% of nerve cells in the brains of animals from degeneration. But before starting clinical trials more animal experiments and toxicology studies are required. Source: newsvote.bbc.co.uk Date:- 27/6/2007
