Scientists have coaxed ordinary mouse skin to create human stem cells. If the process also works with human cells, it would mean that a person’s own skin cells could be converted directly into stem cells. It would also be appreciated from the bioethical point of view as it would not harm human embryos. Researchers cautioned that their success with mouse does not guarantee quick success with human cells, but morally and practically this new approach appears to be far superior.
