The Indian biotech industry registered a growth of about 35% during 2006 against a global average of 18%.It is estimated to achieved the goal of $5 billion by 2010. .The government had granted $550 million to biotechnology research during 2002-07.Now the world has woken up to the fact that India can not be ignored while plotting landscapes of the biotechnology industry of the future.
