Principal Secretary, Department of Horticulture and Food Processing visited Biotech Park

Sri. Ravindra Singh , IAS, Principal Secretary, Department of Horticulture and Food Processing, Government of Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow along with senior officers of the Department visited Biotech Park, Lucknow on Thursday, March 29 th, 2007. He saw with great interest the incubator facilities including the facilities for micro propagation of tissue culture raised banana plants, biofertilizer facility and Jatropha plants. Sri Singh interacted with the scientific and technical staff of the Biotech Park and provided valuable suggestions.
	CEO, Biotech Park, Dr. P.K. Seth gave a brief presentation on Biotech Park facilities and ways and means by which it can play a role in rural development and employment generation through applications of biotechnology. Appreciating the facilities developed at Biotech Park, Sri Singh offered valuable suggestions and suggested that an MOU between the Horticulture Department and Biotech Park may be developed for training of the farmers, Staff of Horticulture Department and utilization of the facilities available at Biotech Park. He further suggested that the Biotech Park should submit the proposals to the Horticulture Department for consideration under the Horticulture Mission Programme.
